A tour bus falls to the ground after a cable bridge collapses this morning in Nanping, Fujian Province. One person was killed and 22 others were injured after a bridge collapsed today in east Fujian Province.

One person was killed and 22 others were injured after a bridge collapsed today in east China's Fujian Province, according to local authorities.

The accident happened at around 8:50 am when a section of Wuyishan Gongguan Bridge collapsed in the city of Wuyishan, said a spokesman with the city's committee of the Communist Party of China.

A tourist bus, carrying 23 people, fell off the collapsed bridge, said the spokesman. The injured were rushed to the hospital, he added.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
