WATER flooded the road and snarled traffic after a car knocked off a fire hydrant on Zhaojiabang Road downtown this noon, according to xinmin.cn.

The mishap occurred at the intersection of Zhaojiabang Road and Taiyuan Road. A Haibo taxi tried to avoid a moped riding in the opposite direction and hit the roadside fire hydrant.

Both the driver and two passengers were slightly injured in the accident and were sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Water jetted from the damaged fire hydrant and soon flooded Zhaojiabang Road, slowing down traffic.
