Blood volunteers

SHANGHAI Blood Administration Office said 97.1 percent of blood collected last year was donated voluntarily - compared to just 1.8 percent in 1999.

In the past, most of the city's blood was collected through giving quotas to companies, government departments and universities. To mark World Blood Donor's Day tomorrow, the office is organizing online reservations for donations at www.shblood.org.cn.
