AN unemployed man was sentenced to one year in prison with probation of one year yesterday by the Jing'an District People's Court for scratching cars parking in a residential community.

The man surnamed Sun, who is in his fifties, said he didn't live a wealthy life and hated rich people. He decided to scratch cars to vent his anger. Late on March 10, Su scratched nine cars parked in a community on Nanjing Road W., causing 19,900 yuan (US$3,071) in damage.
