Man defecates on doorstep of rival's home

A MAN in central China was caught by patrolmen defecating on the doorstep of his business rival's home after taking the advice of a fortuneteller to "excrete his bad luck" to the opponent.

The man, surnamed Ding, in Henan Province was caught about 3:30am yesterday in front of an apartment by a group of patrolmen. The patrolmen had been waiting to catch "a wicked person" after they received reports saying that someone had defecated in front of the apartment several consecutive nights, the Zhengzhou Evening News reported today.

"We saw a man in white hurry into the building about 3:20am," Song Jianjun, a member of the patrol team, told the newspaper. "He didn't come out after six minutes, so we decided to go in and check."

To their surprise, they found Ding while he was zipping up his pants. A steaming heap of excrement was on the floor beside him, the report said.

Ding, a dim sum booth owner, confessed that he was told to do that after he consulted a renowned fortuneteller in a nearby county about how to win business from his rival, surnamed Guo.

The fortuneteller advised Ding that he should defecate in front of Guo's home before 4am for a week so that the bad luck would be transferred.

Guo's business was next to Ding's, the report said.
