Tornado tears through Guangdong

A RARE tornado sliced through Guangdong Province, killing two people and injuring 85 others on Saturday.

Twenty people were seriously hurt, according to the officials. The funnel cloud landed in Qishi Township, officials said yesterday. Zheng Changquan was electrocuted while attempting to rescue a person buried in a collapsed house. A witness, surnamed Zeng, said the twister tore down the gate of the township government. A parked car was sent into the air and plunged on a rice paddy field 50 meters away.
