Political advisor sacked over disciplinary violations
A senior political advisor in suburban Jiading District was sacked for severe disciplinary violations, the city’s disciplinary watchdog said today.
Yan Juming was sacked as vice president of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Shanghai Committee of Jiading District.
Severe disciplinary violations are a euphemism for corruption.
He was degraded to a department-level official, the city’s Party discipline inspection commission announced in a statement on its official website.
Yan purchased residential property at prices below market value from the company he supervised when he served as Party chief of Nanxiang Town and Juyuan New Area in Jiading, the statement said.
He also spent more than daily stipends on food and accommodation when leading a team of government officials on a research trip abroad, it said, adding he changed the official itinerary to visit tourist attractions.
He also distributed government funds to team members for personal use and used the funds to organize meals that have left a bad impression, the statement said.
Yan also violated rules to allow family members to buy shares in companies within the region he supervised, it said.
