FORMER Hebei Province official Liang Bin pled guilty to corruption charges when he stood trial at Anshan Intermediate People’s Court in Liaoning Province yesterday. Liang, former head of the provincial organization department after a spell as deputy governor of Shanxi Province, was accused of taking advantage of his posts to seek benefits for others and receiving bribes worth over 5.57 million yuan (US$830,000). Sentence will be announced later.
