Dozens of expats in Spartan warrior costumes gathered in downtown Beijing yesterday afternoon in a marketing campaign, attracting great attention that caused traffic to backup, Beijing Youth Daily reported.

The almost half-naked men appeared in an underground Metro station, overpass and outside an office building. Each carried a can in hand. They were believed to be promoting a salad store, the report said.

Police had asked them to go once a traffic jam formed. Several men refused and were taken by officers to a police station, the report said.
