Shenyang Metro backed up after fight between commuters
THE Metro Line 1 in Shenyang, capital of northeast China’s Liaoning Province was delayed and stopped operation this morning as some passenger said on Sina Weibo, China’s Twitter-like service that the glasses of security door had been crushed down by passengers at 7:17am.
The incident was later confirmed by the official Weibo account of the city’s Metro operator. The No. 11402 subway train heading to Liming Square stopped at Qingnian Street Station as the train was possibly damaged and the Metro staff were evacuating the passengers on board, according to the operator.
A witness named “Hou Enbo” on Weibo said that the incident was caused by a fight between passengers. Some said that an explosion of cigarette lighter triggered the turmoil, which the local police said it remained to be confirmed.
The Metro operator said that the train intervals along the Metro Line 1 have resumed at 9am.
The police was investigating the case.
