HSBC ‘sorry’ for linking to porn website
Banking giant HSBC has apologized for a blunder on its Hong Kong website that directed unwitting visitors to a pornographic site.
In a statement published on Monday, the lender said the link to the external website had been removed from its community projects page.
“HSBC would like to apologize to the public for any inconvenience caused,” it said.
Video seen on the Apple Daily website showed hsbc.com.hk linking to a page that showed suggestive pictures of scantily clad women.
The British lender said that it was not associated with the pornographic website “in any way,” adding that its own site remains secure.
