Connecting with Chinese fans
NBA Global Games China 2014, presented by ZTE, is part of the league’s ongoing effort to connect with fans globally.
The Brooklyn Nets will take on the Sacramento Kings on Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai and will meet again at the MasterCard Center in Beijing three days later. Here’s some facts and figures about the two games in China.
By the numbers
38,987 – Special wood squares have been shipped to China to make the courts in Shanghai and Beijing
9,160 – Meals will be served to league and team personnel during Global Games China
2,197 – Hotel room nights will be occupied by league and team personnel during Global Games China
1,000 – Towels that will be used by the Nets and Kings will be shipped for the game
960 – Cases of Coca-Cola will be consumed during the teams’ trip to China
410 – Cases of Gatorade will be consumed during the teams’ trip to China
72 – Official NBA game basketballs will be transported to China ahead of the preseason matchups
18 – The matches will mark the NBA’s 17th and 18th games in China
