Boy starts car, nearly runs over baby in Beijing shopping mall

A young boy nearly ran over a baby when he started a car that was being displayed in a shopping mall in Beijing on Saturday, Beijing Morning Post reported today.

Witnesses said the incident took place about 2pm on Saturday at Tongzhou Wanda Plaza.

The baby’s mother pulled the infant out of their stroller just seconds before the car hit it, the report said.

The baby was not harmed. The boy who started the car was about 5 years old and was also unhurt, according to witnesses.

The parents left with their baby before paramedics arrived, the newspaper said.

The vehicle was a Tesla and was one of two in the mall being used for a promotion.

Tesla employees confirmed the details but couldn’t explain how the accident happened, according to the report.
