Named and shamed

THE Communist Party of China’s disciplinary watchdog has named and shamed officials in six cases for lax handling and supervision of subordinates.

The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection released the names of nearly 20 officials whose subordinates were involved in cases including election fraud, inefficient investigation of public complaints, embezzlement and promotion violations.

Most received a warning.

The commission urged its inspectors to be “iron-handed, fix their eyes on officials’ dereliction of duty and continue to expose major violation cases in a bid to ensure effective supervision within the Party.”
