Shanghai 5th in residents’ satisfaction with public services

SHANGHAI ranked fifth in a nationwide survey on people’s satisfaction with public services with Ningbo City in Zhejiang Province topping the table.

The survey was conducted by the School of International and Public Affairs of Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 35 Chinese cities. A total of 3,500 people were asked about key issues like education, social welfare and security, infrastructure, entertainment facilities, public transportation, hospital service, housing price, environmental protection, as well as the attitude and work efficiency of public servants.

Shanghai made it to the top 10 in most of the indexes, but ranked 13th for housing price stability and 17th in the work efficiency of public servants.

Ningbo topped the list for the general evaluation of public services as well as in education, hospital, housing price stability, infrastructure, entertainment facilities and public transportation and public participation in policy making.
