Nanny probed for suspected arson that kills mother and her 3 children
A domestic helper is being investigated by police for suspected arson in Hangzhou, killing four people, local police said today.
The nanny, surnamed Mo, allegedly set fire to the apartment of the master she worked for at about 5am on the 18th floor in a residential complex in Shangcheng District of Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province.
The fire was put out at 6:48am by the firefighters, district government said.
Four people, who turned out to be a mother and her three children, were found at the site and sent to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine.
Despite rescue efforts, they were all pronounced dead later.
The children were two boys and a girl. The oldest was 11 and the youngest six, reported Hanghzou Daily, citing their grandfather.
Police are still investigating.
