More rain to ease drought, heat wave in north China
NORTH China will brace for more rain in the coming three days, which will ease the drought and end the heat wave that has hit the region, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) reported on Sunday.
On Sunday and Monday, light to medium rainfall will hit parts of Inner Mongolia, north and northeast China, and the Huanghuai area. Heavy rain will sweep parts of these areas.
Rainfall will bring some relief to the drought-stricken regions in north China and bring an end to the heat wave that led temperatures in some areas to historic highs in May, the NMC said.
The agency also forecasted that heavy rainfall will hit south China from May 21 to 23, with parts of the region expecting downpours and thunderstorms.
