Domestic helper arrested in arson that killed mother and 3 children

A domestic helper was arrested on suspicion of theft and arson which killed a mother and her three children in Hangzhou, east China’s Zhejiang Province, local police said today.
The 34-year-old domestic helper, surnamed Mo, was accused of setting fire in her employer’s apartment around 5am on June 22. Mo was also suspected of stealing from her employer several times.
Mo was reported to be in debts due to a gambling problem.
The mother and her three children, with the eldest being 11 and youngest six, were found unconscious in the apartment after firefighters broke in. Despite rescue efforts the four died later.
