China orders travel agencies to boycott Japanese hotel over controversial book about Nanjing Massacre

CHINA National Tourism Administration has ordered travel agencies and online travel service operators to avoid Japanese APA hotel and remove all tour products and promotions involving the hotel.

The order follows APA’s refusal to remove books denying that the Nanjing Massacre took place and the forced recruitment of “comfort women.”

Zhang Lizhong, the spokesman for the administration, said tour agencies have been told to stop cooperation with the hotel immediately.

The administration also urged individual Chinese tourists to boycott the hotel.
