1 dead, 11 missing in E China explosion

THERE has been one confirmed fatality and three injured after an explosion at a factory in the eastern province of Anhui on Tuesday.

As of 2 am Wednesday, four people had been rescued, while 11 remain unaccounted for.

The explosion occurred at 5:15 am Tuesday afternoon at a factory on an industrial park in Tangshu Township, Shucheng County.

The police have cordoned off the scene of the incident, and ambulances have begun to arrive.

Fire fighters continue to fight the fire.

An investigations into the cause of the accident is underway.
