In 2010, the district attracted investment of 6,634 enterprises around China. The registered capital attracted in the year amounted to RMB 31.629 billion.
Minhang has become one of the most competitive areas for investors. By the end of 2010, the district had 19 regional headquarters of multinationals, 7 investment corporations, 20 foreign-funded research institutions, and 93 projects invested by World Top 500 enterprises.
In 2010, the district attracted 586 new foreign-invested projects, with contractual value up to USD 2.111 billion. The paid-up investment increased by 25.9% year-on-year, reaching USD 1.418 billion. In 2010, 55 of these projects had new investment or capital increment of over USD 10 million. Their contractual value was USD 1.6 billion, accounting for 75.8% of the district's total foreign investment.
