In 2010, the total retail sale of consumer goods reached RMB 43.991 billion (exceeding RMB 40 billion for the first time), increasing by 18.0% and ranking the second in Shanghai. Specifically, the total retail sale of consumer goods of wholesale and retail businesses was RMB 40.365 billion, increasing by 18.6% over the previous year and accounting for 91.8% of the total sale of the district, with a contribution rate to the increase of total retail sale of consumer goods of the district reaching 94.2%. The total retail sale of catering service was RMB 3.627 billion, increasing 11.9% over the previous year.
In 2010, the nine commercial centers of the district registered operating revenue of RMB 13.921 billion, up by 23.8% over the previous year. The operating revenue of large-scale supermarkets surpassed RMB 1 billion, and the combined effect became more visible. Specifically, Wuzhong Road Commercial Street achieved operating revenue of RMB 7.422 billion; Shanghai Friendship South Shopping Mall RMB 2.857 billion; Zhongsheng Shopping Mall RMB 1.216 billion; Longcheng Shopping Mall RMB 1.091 billion; and Qibao Shopping Mall RMB 1.056 billion.
In 2010, the producer service sector registered a total added value of RMB 17.980 billion, increasing by 13.1% and accounting for 37.7% of that of the tertiary industry and 13.2% of the district's total output value.
By 2010, the district had 72 financial institutions, including 23 banks, 20 insurance companies, and 9 securities trading institutions. By the end of 2010, various deposits reached RMB 227.5 billion, of which RMB 115.4 billion was household savings deposits. And bank loans at the year-end amounted to RMB 91.1 billion, including personal consumer loans of RMB 28 billion. The banks in the district provided policy-related financing guarantee for 162 small and medium enterprises.
In 2010, commodity housing sales reached 2,580,000 square meters, down 17.0% year-on-year, with the sales volume totaling RMB 30.629 billion, down 16.8% from the previous year. In the year, the construction of commodity housing added 1,972,700 square meters, down 34.6% from the previous year, including 1,193,100 square meters for indemnificatory apartment which increased by 5.6% over the previous year and accounted for 60.5% of the whole construction area added.
By the end of 2010, the district had eight star-rated hotels, of which three were three-star hotels. During Shanghai World Expo held from May to October, the room revenue of enterprises above 他the designated size of hotels increased by 72.6% over the previous year, and that of star-rated hotels 160%. In 2010, two tourism information service centers were established at Qibao and Xinzhuang.
The travel agencies in the district received 140,400 guests, up by 34.0% over the previous year; and the organized tour received 154,000 guests, up by 35.0%. The main tourist spots in the district, including Jinjiang Park, Yinqixing Ski Resort, Tropical Storm, Qibao Ancient Town, and Hanxiang Water Expo Garden, received 8,360,000 guests, up by 16.0% over the previous year.
In 2010, 59 automobile marketing companies in the district achieved the retail sales of RMB 19.209 billion, up by 40.7% over the previous year, accounting for 43.7% of the total retail sales of the district and increasing by 7.1% over 2009. The combined effect of the automobile marketing service was formed along Huaxiang Road and Wuzhong Road.
