Key Industries

In 2010, the total output value of industrial enterprises above the set scale was RMB 361.555 billion, an increase of 9.3% over the previous year. In the year, four major industrial manufacturing sectors of the district, namely manufacturing of communication equipment, computer and other electronic equipment, manufacturing of general equipment, manufacturing of electric equipment, machinery and materials, manufacture of chemical materials and products, realized a total industrial output value of RMB 213.830 billion, increasing by 6.7% over the previous year and accounting for 56.6% of the district's total output value.

The contribution rate of the four major industrial manufacturing sectors reached as high as 25%. Of them, the contribution rate of the manufacturing of electric equipment, machinery and materials grew most rapidly, up 19.9%.

High Technologies

In 2010, the hi-tech sector of the district made a total industrial output value of RMB 116.759 billion, accounting for 32.3% of the district's total industrial output value of enterprises above the set scale.

Information Products

In 2010, there were 131 manufacturers of communication equipment, computer and other electronic equipment in the district. Their industrial output value totaled RMB 98.199 billion, increasing by 1.0% over the previous year and accounting for 26% of the district's total industrial output value of enterprises above the set scale.

Economic Profits

With the stable recovery of the economy of Minhang District after the economic crisis in 2008, the economic profits of enterprises witnessed a remarkable growth. In 2010, enterprises above the set scale reached total profits of RMB 25.060 billion, 43.6% higher than the previous year.

The percentage of loss of industrial enterprises above the set scale reduced 6.5% over the previous year. To be specific, the profits of the money-earning enterprises climbed to RMB 27.886 billion, 23.5% higher than the last year; the deficits of the money-losing enterprises dropped to RMB 2.825 billion, 45.0% lower than the previous year. The enterprises had formed a complete industry chain of production and sale, with the sales ratio reaching 99.3%.
