The district’s industrial output value totaled 353.364 billion Yuan in 2009, an increase of 1.1% over the previous year. The industrial added value totaled 76.62 billion Yuan, up 3.0% year-on-year.

The industrial sectors have successfully weathered the financial crisis and rebounded with ever-increasing profits. The total profit of industrial enterprises above the set scale has risen by 28.5%, compared with the previous year, to 17.446 billion Yuan.

Key Industries

In 2009, the total output value of industrial enterprises above the set scale was 333.794 billion Yuan, an increase of 2.1% over the previous year.

In the year, four major industrial manufacturing sectors of the district, namely manufacture of electronic communications equipment, manufacture of general equipment, manufacture of electric equipment, machinery and materials, manufacture of chemical materials and products, realized a total industrial output value of 207.748 billion Yuan, an increase of 5.4% over the previous year and accounting for 62.2% of the district’s total output value of enterprises above the set scale.

High Technologies

The high-tech sector of the district made a total industrial output value of 142.73 billion Yuan in 2009, accounting for 42.6% of the district’s total industrial output value of enterprises above the set scale.

Information Products

In 2009, the district had 136 manufacturers of information products. Their industrial output value totaled 107.23 billion Yuan, 10.7% higher than that of the previous year and accounting for 32.1% of the district’s total industrial output value.

Economic Efficiency

In 2009, enterprises above the set scale reached a profit of 17.446 billion Yuan, 23.9% higher than the previous year. To be specific, the profit by the enterprises from other countries or from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau was 12.837 billion Yuan (73.6% of the total), 28.5% higher than the last year.

The profit of the money-earning enterprises climbed to 22.580 billion Yuan, 16.8% higher than last year; the deficits of the money-losing enterprises dropped to 5.133 billion Yuan, 2.2% lower than the previous year.

The total profit out of the output value per 100 Yuan for enterprises above the set scale is 5.23 Yuan, up by 1.18 Yuan compared with the previous year.
