Han Zheng meets Continental boss from Germany
韩正会见德国大陆集团全球总裁一行

SHANGHAI Party Secretary Han Zheng met Elmar Degenhart, chairman of the executive board of Continental Corp, a leading German auto parts manufacturer.

Han said Shanghai is aiming to become a global innovation center and has adopted 22 measures since May to support the drive. More incentive policies will come out to stimulate innovation and business start-ups.

He said Yangpu District plays an important role in Shanghai’s drive to become a global innovation center and he looks to a fruitful cooperation between the Continental Corp and Yangpu government after the company located its regional headquarters and R&D center in the district.

Degenhart said Shanghai’s plan to become an international financial center is exciting and is in keeping with Continental’s business development plan.

He said Shanghai has obvious advantages in personnel training and talent recruitment. This is very important for his company’s future development.

Degenhart expressed the hope that Continental can play a part in Shanghai’s effort to become a global innovation center and develop more environment-friendly, intelligent and quality products.

Continental Corp is one of the world’s largest automobile parts manufacturer and ranks 237th among the Fortune 500 companies. Its China headquarters and two R&D facilities are located in Shanghai.
