SHANGHAI Party Secretary Han Zheng on Saturday met Samuel Chao Chung Ting, a Chinese-American physicist who received the Nobel Prize in 1976.

Han welcomed the overseas scholars for the forum including Ting and learned about research achievements of these guests.

The Party leader hoped these overseas researchers can visit Shanghai more frequently to offer advice to help Shanghai build a global innovation center.

Ting introduced his Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer experiment which was installed on the International Space Station in 2011. Ting also praised Fudan University’s major progress in brain science and brain-like intelligence technology. He said that if these progresses make breakthroughs, their significance will be very prominent.
