Delegation from Dunedin, New Zealand visits Shanghai

SHANGHAI Mayor Yang Xiong met Dave Cull, mayor of Dunedin of New Zealand and his delegation yesterday. Both mayors oversaw the signing of an agreement for cooperation in education.
Yang said Dunedin is one of the best sister cities of Shanghai. In the past 20 years, the two cities have signed five memorandums of understanding for cooperation. Cull’s visit would strengthen bilateral cooperation in economy, trade, education, tourism and technology development.
Cull said he was pleased with the fruitful cooperation between Dunedin and Shanghai. His city will deepen its cooperation with Shanghai in various fields.
Matthew Dalzell, the consul-general of New Zealand in Shanghai, attended the meeting. The Dunedin delegation also held a brief ceremony to send greetings to Shanghai people in the tradition of Ngai Tahu Maori tribe.
