Woman found dead at work
A WOMAN was found dead and a man seriously injured on Monday at a massage parlor in the Pudong New Area, police said yesterday.
The 31-year-old woman surnamed Zhang, who worked as a foot masseuse at the salon, and 51-year-old man surnamed Chen were a couple, they said.
Police did not say how Zhang died, but said they are treating her death as suspicious.
Chen suffered a knife wound to his neck and is being treated in hospital, they said.
News website xinmin.cn reported that the pair was seen arriving at the premises on Yongtai Road about 8am on Monday.
Several unnamed people were quoted as saying that Chen, a native of east China’s Anhui Province, and Zhang, southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality, were regularly seen quarreling.
Police said they went to the massage parlor about 11am, after being contacted by a local man who said he looked through the window of the shop and saw signs of a fight and puddles of blood.
