Wanted man calls police
A MAN who called police for help turned out to be the fugitive police were looking for half a year.
The man, surnamed Pei, called police for help yesterday morning when he got into a conflict with another man at a fast food restaurant in the waiting room of Shanghai South Railway Station. After police arrived and asked them to show their identity cards, they found Pei was the man on the run for six months.
Police said Pei was involved in a violent incident last December when he gathered a group of people and badly beat up a man at an entertainment venue in Putuo District. Pei has been at large since then. Pei told police he thought he was safe and that he was no longer wanted for the case.
