Three Shanghai teachers killed, another severely injured, in car crash on Tibet self-driving tour
THREE teachers from Shanghai’s Jinshan District were killed and another was severely injured yesterday in a traffic accident in Nagqu Prefecture of Tibet, the district education bureau said today in a statement.
Three teachers from schools in Jinshan District were killed and another severely injured in a car crash yesterday in the Nagqu Prefecture of Tibet when they were having a self-driving trip, the district education bureau confirmed in a statement.
The bureau said the three were killed on the scene in a ‘serious car crash’. The other victim is temporarily out of life danger but his condition is still at risk of worsening due to influences of high-altitude stress.
The victims were among a group of 11 teachers, all from Jinshan, who were on self-driving tours with three cars to Tibet and Yunnan.
The deceased were respectively from a district vocational school and a primary school, officials said.
Nine relatives of the victims, accompanied by a team of officials from the district education bureau, have set off for Nagqu to deal with aftermath of the mishap.
It’s unclear yet how did the car crash took place as an investigation is still under way, officials said.
