Store owner killed when chasing after armed cellphone thieves in Pudong
A man was killed Tuesday afternoon during an encounter with two alleged armed thieves who had snatched a mobile phone from his store.
The victim, identified by police as a 50-year old man, surnamed Wang, had died from massive loss of blood after one of the suspects stabbed him when he chased after them.
Police said they were alarmed at 5:20pm on Tuesday after the duo allegedly stole a mobile phone from the victim's store on Jingao Road, in Pudong and attacked the victim, who had chased after them.
The victim was announced dead after being sent to hospital, police said. The two suspects were seized by police in their rented house in wee hours the next day, police said.
The case is still being investigated with no more details available for public release, police said.
