Stay alert on the road

THE number of car accidents is expected to rise this month due to the start of the rainy season, Shanghai’s transport commission said yesterday. Meanwhile, officials said there will be no offers of toll-free expressways during this year’s Dragon Boat Festival on June 20, and as a result, traffic volumes are set to be 30 percent lower than they were during the Labor Day holiday. Motorists are also warned of restrictions during the national college entrance exams — this Sunday and Monday — and high school entrance exams on June 13 and 14.
