Songjiang to host picking your own fruit
SHANGHAI Chenshan Botanical Garden in Songjiang District will host a fruit and vegetable picking event tomorrow.
Autumn is the season of harvest and a variety of fruits and vegetables including hot peppers, gumbos, eggplants and basil are available for picking.
Nearly 20 species of rarely seen plants, such as snake and swan gourd, can also be picked. The tour to the “plant kingdom” includes a lecture to help people to recognize different plants.
The picked fruits and vegetables can be taken home. Application is available on the garden’s WeChat.
Over the weekend, the garden will also host science popularization activities, encouraging visitors to accomplish different plant-related tasks as well as the chance to win gifts.
The weather for the events should certainly be an improvement from what the city suffered at the start of the week, according to the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.
Today should be overcast to cloudy, with the temperature ranging from 18 to 23 degrees. It should be sunny to cloudy tomorrow, with a similar temperature range to today.
On Sunday, sunny to cloudy weather is also expected and the mercury should hover from 17 to 22 degrees. Both Monday and Tuesday are set to be cloudy.
