Slapper gets 5 days in detention

A 49-year-old woman has been detained for assaulting a female doctor at Ruijin Hospital, police said yesterday.
The incident happened on Saturday morning when the woman, surnamed Zhang, who was an inpatient at the hospital, slapped the face of a 32-year-old gynecologist surnamed Song in a heated dispute over a sick leave certificate. Zhang became angry after Song refused to grant her an extra month’s leave, saying she was entitled only to one more week, police said.
After striking the doctor, the assailant left the hospital, but was later caught by police and placed in detention for a period of five days.
