A man in suburban Shanghai has been arrested after damaging the windshield of a police car when receiving a traffic ticket, police said yesterday.
The incident happened on Monday afternoon in Jinshan District when a traffic police officer was ticketing a car parked in a parking lot but blocking the passage.
Three men rushed out of a store towards the officer trying to stop him from issuing the ticket, and one of them, surnamed Xi, damaged the windshield of the officer’s car with his hands, police said.
Xi later said he was drunk at that time and regretted what he did. He faces detention. The other two men were allowed to go.
