Poultry trade order
LOCAL authorities have ordered live poultry wholesale markets in the city to halt business one day each week to carry out overall cleaning and disinfection, and retail markets to do so once every two weeks. The notice was issued by Shanghai Commerce Commission yesterday as the seasonal ban on live poultry trading ended over the weekend. Since 2014, live poultry have been banned in local markets between the first day of Chinese Lunar Year and April 30 each year to prevent bird flu.
