Medical salesmen jailed

THE Jing’an District People’s Court found two medical salesmen guilty of paying bribes of more than 140,000 yuan (US$22,540) to local hospitals and sentenced them to up to three years in jail yesterday. One of them, surnamed Zhong, paid over 100,000 yuan worth bribe to the director of a local hospital that included free trips to promote use of fructose injection. The other salesman, surnamed Yu, paid out about 40,000 yuan to hospital executives for use of his medicines, the court heard.
