Man, 85, held over killing

AN 85-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of killing his 81-year-old wife following a dispute at their home in Hongkou District on Wednesday, police said.
Police received a call about 6:30pm from the couple’s child saying the door to the apartment had been locked from the inside and that no one was responding to the knocking. Police officers broke into the room and found the man, surnamed Song, sitting in the living room with blood on his clothes and hands. His wife, surnamed Zhang, was lying dead on the floor.
