Illegal vehicles on rise
A TOTAL of 5,000 motor vehicles have been involved in illegal operations this year, while 1,696 drivers have had their licenses suspended by traffic police for at least three months due to regulation violations, the city’s transport authority said. Officials have been keen this year to crack down on the illegal use of private vehicles, especially those used as cloned taxis. The number of illegal vehicles identified this year is three times last year’s total.
