Honest cabbie plays down returning passenger’s wallet

A CITY cabbie praised for returning a wallet that a foreign passenger left in his taxi has played down his actions.
Ren Guorong, a taxi driver with Shanghai Dazhong Taxi Co, said that he was simply helping his customer. “If I lost my belongings, I’d be very anxious. And that’s what my customer felt at that moment,” he told Shanghai Daily. Ren found the wallet after dropping off the passenger at JW Marriot Hotel Shanghai at Tomorrow Square on Nanjing Road on November 6. He refused a cash reward but was given a voucher for a meal at the hotel.
