Four killed, three injured in expressway crash near Pudong airport

FOUR were killed and three others injured in a single-car crash early this morning on an expressway near Pudong International Airport, police said.
The car overturned on the S1 Expressway near the airport and police were alarmed at 4:24am.
Two people in the car flew out and fell down the elevated highway. They were pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics. Five others were pulled out of the wreckage by rescuers and rushed to hospital but two of them were fatally injured and later pronounced dead at hospital.
The other injured victims mostly suffer bone fractures and are now in stable condition, the Pudong New District People's Hospital told Shanghai Daily.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, police said.
The city has been having lingering rains for days.
