FIREFIGHTERS rescued a foreigner whose right wrist was stuck in a neighborhood fence in suburban Songjiang District at 4am on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old Briton was reportedly trying to climb the fence between the two residential communities.

But the sharp, spear-like fence ripped through his right wrist and he remained stuck until firefighters arrived.

To prevent secondary damage, the firefighters cut the fences first to help him get down first. He was rushed to the hospital, with part of the fence still stuck in his hand.

The doctor confirmed he was drunk. He had to undergo surgery to remove the rod but doctors said he would still be able to use his hand in the future.
