Fireworks go electric

POLICE in Shanghai’s Jinshan District began lending electronic firecrackers to local residents for celebrations, as the city now bans them inside the Outer Ring on ordinary days and throughout the city on heavily polluted days.

Jinshan police said they have prepared electronic firecrackers in most branches and neighborhood committees and people wanting them only have to register their personal information with ID cards.
