Ex-court boss faces graft probe
PAN Furen, former president of Shanghai No. 1 Intermediate People’s Court, is under investigation on suspicion of accepting bribes, the People’s Procuratorate of Nanchang City in Jiangxi Province announced yesterday.
The decision was made after a preliminary inspection and a further investigation is continuing.
Pan, 66, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China due to disciplinary violations, the CPC Shanghai Commission for Discipline Inspection said last Friday. It said his “illegal gains” have been confiscated.
Pan violated Party’s frugality rules and national law, including accepting bribes personally or via relatives, taking advantage of his post to seek profits for others, patronizing luxury private clubs and interfering in judicial and economic activities, the commission said.
