A DOWNTOWN shopping mall suspended cleaning work on all of its escalators yesterday, following an accident in which a cleaner had part of his leg amputated after it became trapped.
The escalator involved in the accident at Cloud Nine mall at Zhongshan Park was still out of service yesterday. The accident happened on Saturday night when 35-year-old Zhang Shisheng was cleaning an escalator after the mall had closed.
