Driving school ‘fraud’
AN instructor at a local driving school has been detained for allegedly defrauding students out of at least 260,000 yuan (US$39,000), police said yesterday.
At least 40 students paid the suspect, a man surnamed Wang, 7,000 to 7,500 yuan but were expelled by the school after a short time because they were not enrolled, according to thepaper.cn.
Police told Shanghai Daily that the driving school where Wang worked, “Yindu,” was not involved in fraudulent activity.
