Disneyland ticket prices announced

TICKETS for Shanghai Disneyland go on sale on March 28 from 370 yuan (US$56), rising to 499 yuan at weekends and during holidays, the Shanghai Disney Resort announced yesterday.

The higher price will also cover the opening period from June 16 to 30.

There will be 25 percent concession for children, disabled people and the over-65s.

A two-day ticket, at double the daily rate, will be available with a 5 percent discount. Tickets will be date-specific.

A spokesman for the resort said the ticketing options were designed to spread visits throughout the year. “The two-tiered pricing and date-specific tickets will allow the park to manage the extraordinary anticipated demand,” according to a press release.

The Shanghai resort will be the cheapest of all six Disneylands. A day ticket at Hong Kong Disney is HK$539 (US$69) while Tokyo charges 6,900 yen (US$58). Tickets in Florida cost US$105, California charges US$99 and Paris 84 euros (US$92).

Tickets will allow access to all of Shanghai Disneyland’s attractions and entertainment inside the theme park, but not the Chinese-language production “The Lion King” in Disneytown, the resort’s shopping, dining and entertainment area. Ticket prices for that show will be announced on March 28, the company said, at the same time as the cost of hotel rooms in the resort is revealed.

The US$5.5 billion resort features an Enchanted Storybook Castle — the tallest in any Disney park — and attractions not seen at any other Disney park, the company said.

Tickets will be available at www.shanghaidisneyresort.com or by calling free on 400-180-0000. A list of official travel partners can also be found on the website.
