Disneyland rejects tickets
A group of elementary school students and their parents got a nasty surprise when they arrived at Shanghai Disneyland for a fun day out.
The head of their group, surnamed Fang, purchased 55 tickets for the amusement park from the flagship Disney store on Alitrip.com on June 20, but was told at the entrance on July 14 that 33 of them were invalid because they had already been used, Pudong police said yesterday. Fang then had to pay over 16,000 yuan (US$2,400) for the students and parents to be allowed entry.
Alitrip and Disney have refunded Fang for the invalid tickets and is working with the Disney resort to determine what happened, Alitrip said in a statement yesterday. Shanghai Disney Resort said in an official response that “this case involves a third-party vendor and it is a law enforcement matter.”
