Man who threatened cop with knife gets 9 months in jail

A man was sentenced to nine months in prison for attacking a policeman with a kitchen knife.
On May 3, the man surnamed Ouyang was riding an electric bike to deliver food. He was stopped by a traffic policeman after he jumped a red light. But after being handed a 2-yuan fine, he took out a kitchen knife from a trunk and threatened the policeman. He drove off after that.
Ouyang was later caught by police.
A local court ruled that while Ouyang did not injure the policeman, his act should be deemed as an attack on the force and sentenced him to 9 months in jail.
