Bouncer stabbed outside club
POLICE are looking for a driver who stabbed a nightclub bouncer with a knife in downtown Jing’an District.
The victim, surnamed Chen, worked for a nightclub on Yan’an Road M. Chen told police that he was walking home with a colleague, surnamed Wang, about 5am when they were confronted by two men.
One of them knifed Chen in the head and leg. Wang called police but the attackers fled in a taxi.
Chen was rushed to Huashan Hospital and later transferred to the PLA No. 85 Hospital. His condition was stable.
The suspects are still at large.
Shanghai Morning Post reported that Wang recognized the attacker as one of the drivers who drove intoxicated customers home.
Wang said Chen and the driver had a quarrel over a customer about half an hour before the stabbing incident.
Some of the city’s nightclubs and restaurants provide parking and driving services for their customers. A parking staff or a security guard usually drive a inebriated customer home and charge according to the distance.
Police were investigating the case.
